A smartphone particularly gifted in photography
The Pixel 7 refines its unique look, marked by the horizontal bar containing the photo sensors. This is refined compared to the Pixel 6 and gains a more discreet aluminum coating. The finishes are excellent, the handling pleasant, in particular thanks to the reduction in the size of the screen (from 6.4 to 6.3 inches) and the weight of the phone (197 g). Its OLED screen offers excellent brightness and colorimetry close to perfection. The absence of 120 Hz is not lacking that much with 90 Hz on the counter.
Sans surprise, le Pixel 7 est l’un des meilleurs photophones actuellement présents sur le marché. Son module est composé de deux capteurs : un de 50 mégapixels avec objectif grand-angle et un de 12 mégapixels avec objectif ultra grand-angle. Les clichés sont réussis, avec des couleurs vibrantes, une netteté au poil et des détails bien présents. Les algorithmes de Google font toujours des merveilles, et les différentes options sont bien pratiques, comme la gomme magique par exemple ou le fameux Super Res Zoom, un zoom numérique x8 plutôt convaincant.
Bien équilibré et agréable à utiliser
La septième génération des Google Pixel s’équipe de la puce Tensor G2. Cette puce assurera sans souci tous les usages du quotidien, mais pêchera un peu sur les performances en gaming. Vous pourrez jouer, mais sans les graphismes poussés à fond sous peine de souffrir de quelques ralentissements. On va surtout l’apprécier pour son interface logicielle. Avec la « Pixel Experience », on a droit à une expérience utilisateur, sous Android 13, particulièrement fluide et très agréable. Google propose également de multiples options pratiques, comme la personnalisation très riche.
Son seul vrai défaut, c’est bel et bien sa charge (très) lente. Une recharge complète prendra ainsi près d’une heure et demie. Heureusement, son autonomie sera satisfaisante : durant de notre test, le smartphone a pu tenir une journée complète avec un usage classique, mais si vous avez une utilisation plus poussée, il faudra songer à se tourner vers un modèle un peu plus costaud.
